Community midwives

We work in partnership with the midwife service to ensure you can access your appointments in the heart of the community. You will have access to your community midwives within the Children’s Centre Hubs.

Health visiting teams

In later pregnancy you will be invited to an anti-natal check at your local Children’s Centre where you will have the opportunity to meet your health visiting team, and find out more about the children’s centre offer.

Children’s centres provide various workshops in partnership with the health visiting service. These are run for small groups of parents aiming to offer support around common subjects you may wish to find out more about. Some topics we discuss are:

  • Child behaviour and routines
  • Ditch the dummy
  • Healthy eating
  • Mental health support
  • SEND support

Bumps and Babes group

Watch your baby thrive and learn in a safe play environment. This group is for parents who are pregnant or have children up to 1 year old. This warm, friendly group run by children centre staff offers parents support and advice in an informal and welcoming setting in partnership with the health visiting team.
