We are delighted to inform you that the Department for Education announced last week (March 2019) that Reading was one of 37 towns which would benefit from a new special free school.
The school will offer 150 places for pupils with Special Education Needs and Disabilities (SEND) from the three local authority areas covering Reading, Wokingham Borough and West Berkshire, and aims to be open by 2022.
Brighter Futures for Children delivers SEND services on behalf of Reading Borough Council. The specification document for the free school is here:
Potential trusts who would like the opportunity to apply to establish the new school should note that the deadline for applications is 30 September 2019 (midday). All information relating to evaluation and interviews is in the above document.
