A day nursery in Reading, run by Brighter Futures for Children, has been rated ‘Good’ by Ofsted.

Inspectors found Sure Start Whitley Nursery to be ‘Good’ in all areas, including quality of education; behaviour and attitudes; personal development; and leadership and management.

The setting has maintained its high rating since it was rated ‘Good’ in its previous inspection in 2022.

The report added that “Leaders and staff form strong partnerships and communication with parents and other professionals”, and “the arrangements for safeguarding are effective.”

Di Smith, Board Chair of Brighter Futures for Children, said: “The team at Sure Start Whitley Nursery work incredibly hard to provide a fun, safe and educational environment for children in Reading, so I am glad that the latest report recognises this.

“To maintain a ‘Good’ rating across all areas is a great achievement and is a testament to the care and hard work that goes into running the nursery.”

Cllr Wendy Griffith, Lead Councillor for Children, said: “I am delighted that the nursery received a rating that confirms what we already know – Sure Start Whitley Nursery is a fantastic place for all the children who attend.

“I know just how hard everyone works to provide a special space for children and maintain such a positive rating, so it is great that the impressive staff have been recognised yet again.”
