Child and parents or carers at home

Every child deserves a decent start in life, and to be given the guidance, confidence and love they need to fulfil their potential.

Fostering offers children and young people a safe and caring home when they are unable to live with their birth family. This is often a child’s first positive experience of family life. Every young person deserves a decent start in life and by becoming a foster carer, you can help to make a difference to a child’s life.

We are on a mission to connect with everyone in Reading to help us find more foster carers, so we can keep our local children and young people rooted in Reading and give them a brighter future.

Learn more about fostering on our dedicated website:

Could you be one of the special people or families we’re looking for? You need to be over 21, be a UK citizen, live in or near Reading and have a spare room. You also need to be aware that fostering can be challenging and difficult at time but also that it’s incredibly rewarding and interesting. And we’ll be with you, supporting you all the way.

You can also look out for us on Twitter, Facebook and LinkedIn or call us on 0118 469 3020. We look forward to hearing from you.

If you’re already a foster carer, log into the Foster Carers’ Hub.
