Children Missing Education (CME) and exclusions
The Safeguarding and CME Officer supports schools with safeguarding advice, triaging CME referrals and exclusions support.
CME: If you have concerns that a child you are working with is of statutory school age and may be missing education please advise the child’s school to complete a CME referral and send to CME@brighterfuturesforchildren.org
Exclusions – Children can be excluded from school for a fixed term – anything up to 45 days in a school year – or, if the situation is very serious, permanently. If you have concerns in regard to a child receiving multiple exclusions or a permanent exclusion, please notify the Safeguarding and CME Officer who can support you with exclusions law and advice.
