Safeguarding

Our safeguarding teams are made up of social workers who become involved when problems cannot be solved quickly. Their aim is to support families to make the changes they need and to help them keep those changes in place so children can be safe.

The safeguarding teams are part of our Together for Families Service.

Sometimes a child or young person will need extra support through a Child in Need Plan or a Child Protection Plan. When this happens, workers from different services will join together as a multi?agency team. They work with the family to make sure the right help is provided.

If the changes that are needed do not happen fast enough, the safeguarding teams can ask for legal advice. In some situations, they may need to ask a court to help decide what needs to happen next to keep a child safe.
