We were established as an independent, not-for-profit-company in December 2018 to deliver the best possible opportunities for the children of Reading. Our responsibility is to deliver children’s social care, early help & prevention and educational services (including SEND) on Reading Borough Council’s behalf.

In January 2025 the decision was made to bring Brighter Futures for Children back into the council and staff and services will move across towards the end of 2025. We are currently working on the transition to make it as smooth as possible.

Our vision is – and always will be – to unlock resources to help every child and young person to have a happy, healthy and successful life. We believe that we are most likely to succeed if our staff, children and young people we work with are involved and engaged in everything we do.
