Children’s Social Care

We care deeply about the families we work with and put the welfare and life chances of children and young people at the heart of everything we do.

Access and Assessment

Our Access and Assessment (A&A) team works with children, families and young people. You can expect to work alongside a Social Worker who will undertake an assessment with you to help you understand the issues you face and plan the best course of action to ensure children’s safety.

The A&A Team receive referrals from Brighter Future for Children’s Single Point of Access (CSPOA).  Brighter Futures for Children’s Single Point of Access is the team within Children’s Social Care which receives and processes all contacts relating to any concerns raised about children (pre-birth up to 18 years old) in Reading. This includes early interventions and prevention, safeguarding and child protection concerns.
